Loves Park Fire Department was founded in 1947 under the leadership of Mayor Burton.
In the spring of 2018, the Loves Park Fire Department gained Chief Jerry Wiltfang, under the leadership of Mayor Greg Jury. Over several months, Chief Wiltfang and Mayor Jury, expanded the fire department's services to successfully cover a population of approximately 25,000 with 24/7/365 fire and emergency medical services. Since the spring of 2019, the department has added two fulltime advanced life support ambulances to serve our community. And in 2022, acquired a much needed new location on the City's far east side. The new Station 1 is located at 5180 Rock Valley Parkway. As our City continues to grow, so do our services to those we are honored protect.
